Topics discussed include her career in education, winning a scholarship to attend Winthrop College, (Class of 1914); her service as a member of the State Department of Education-Adult Education, and assistant director of the South Carolina Opportunity School, working with Wil Lou Gray; and her gradual acceptance of women's suffrage. Other topics addressed include interactions with Sallie Mae Tillman Schuler, a fellow classmate at Winthrop and daughter of Gov. Ben Tillman; interaction with Mary Little Yeargin (1867-1893); problems of juvenile delinquency during World War II; issues of equal pay for men and women; and mention of a field trip during which she escorted 40 students to ceremonies, 7 Oct. [1930?] commemorating Battle of King's Mountain, which was attended by President Herbert Hoover.
